History

BenningBenning IrelandBenning specialises in the development and production of high quality power supply systems. These systems form the basis for technically and economically optimised turnkey project solutions.

Benning has been involved in this activity for decades, they started as a repair workshop for electric motors. The company has since developed to become one of the leading manufacturers of power supply equipment.

Benning Ireland have a varied range of electronic components, all of which have to be stored. These components are of very high value and are crucial to the production of Benning equipment.

Solution

BenningStorage Carousels at BenningBenning invested in automated vertical storage systems to store these components and chose Industore to provide a solution to their needs. Industore have installed and commissioned 13 Hänel Rotomats, which fully utilised the height available in the warehouse. This gave Benning the excess capacity they sought within the existing warehouse area which can now be allocated to production activities.

Industore bespoke software was interfaced with the Benning Warehouse Management System to further enhance the control/replenish operation. This provided further savings in time and labour costs, which, combined with the massive space savings, gave Benning a very fast return on investment.

Benning have recently invested in a further three units taking their total number of Hänel machines to 16.

In order to save storage space more efficiently and have better stock control, it has been necessary to implement more units. We have had no problems with our existing Rotomats, which we have had for more than 10 years, and they have dramatically improved our stock control."
