New Case Study - Sytner BMW

Sytner BMWIAS Industore was approached by Sytner High Wycombe, Sytner's flagship dealership in the UK, regarding the organisation of their spare parts storage in their parts department. IAS Industore therefore worked with Sytner's architect, MDG, to design and install a turnkey storage solution. This included a mezzanine floor, racking for larger parts and two Hänel Lean-Lifts at 3m x 3m x 7m high; these will support 32 service bays.

Sytner High Wycombe is one of many dealerships to invest in Hänel Lean-Lift technology, exclusively supplied and serviced by IAS Industore throughout the UK and Ireland. The Lean-Lift provides high density, height optimised automated storage that delivers dramatic floor space savings and enables vastly reduced stock retrieval times.

Automated Vertical Lift Storage at Sytner BMW

Sytner BMWIAS Industore's past experience shows that working with dealership architects from the initial design stage enhances the benefits that the Lean-Lift delivers. With this consultation the space saved by the Lean-Lift can be allocated to either extra service bays or extra showroom space - both revenue producing functions.

Beyond the space saving benefits, the Lean-Lift also brings innovation to the parts department and brings with it a new way of working. Parts are brought to the user at an ergonomically positioned access point; there is therefore no more climbing of stairs, stooping to the bottom shelf or wasting time searching for an item. Parts are picked by entering a part number into a control panel, these are then retrieved automatically. This automated process significantly reduces picking errors.

Mr Doug Smith, Parts Manager, comments on the Lean-Lift installation: "I was unsure about the Lean-Lift technology at first, but after using them for while, I am quite convinced that they are the future for parts storage and retrieval. They are incredibly space efficient and therefore allow more space for productive uses i.e. workshop bays."
