Brose puts its trust in German technology and relies on Hänel Lean-Lift systems for an optimal supply of spare parts

Brose is the world’s fourth largest family-owned automotive parts supplier. A Hänel Lean-Lift was installed at the company site in Querétaro, Mexico, to store spare parts needed for production machinery. An oversized vertical lift is used to store many types of parts that are shipped to Brose sites around the world.

Maximum loads and optimized storage organization boost capacity

The Hänel Lean-Lift has a height of nearly 9 m and can handle a total load capacity of 60 tons – the system holds spare parts needed for production machinery.  The vertical Hänel lift has a very small footprint and features height-optimized storage to increase overall density.  The parts are systematically stored on Hänel multifunction containers.  The Hänel Lean-Lift utilizes the entire height of the building to ensure maximum storage capacity. The small footprint means that the automated system requires less floor space than conventional racks and shelves. The valuable space saved can thus be used for production purposes.

The Hänel Lean-Lift® – faster processes, more precise inventory control and optimized shipping quality

The reliable and efficient supply of spare parts is essential for smooth production processes.  The central Brose ERP system sends picking data to the storage area. The compact Hänel MP 12 N controller is used for the picking process. Employees enter item numbers on the control unit – the requested parts are then transported to the access point for retrieval. Afterwards the overall inventory status is automatically updated by the integrated warehouse management in the lift controller.  Thanks to the Hänel Lean-Lift in operation at Brose, processes are faster, inventory control is more precise and shipping quality has been optimized.

Optimal protection with a high-tech fire extinguishing system

The Hänel Lean-Lift is equipped with a fire-extinguishing system to ensure the uninterrupted supply of spare parts – even in an emergency. When activated the system automatically fills the lifts with argon gas to extinguish the fire. Since water is not used, no damage is done to the items in storage.  The panels concealing the extinguishing system match the appearance of the Hänel system in accordance with Brose specifications.

Thanks to the Hänel Lean-Lift in operation at Brose, processes are faster, inventory control is more precise and shipping quality has been optimized. That’s why the company has installed several more Hänel storage systems!
