Last month, team members across departments and regions at Industore dug out their trainers and jetted off to Northern Ireland for the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon team relay event, in aid of the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity.
Here at Industore, we pride ourselves on the many charities and local community events we have supported throughout our 23-year history. That’s why, for this financial year, following very healthy year-end results, staff at Industore will adopt the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity as its ‘Charity of the Year’, particularly supporting the incredible work of the Tiny Lives Appeal.
What is the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity?
The Noah’s Ark Charity supports Wales’ only dedicated children’s hospital to provide world class care to the 73,000 young patients treated there each year. It works hand in hand with its supporters to provide the hospital with state of the art equipment that save lives, improve outcomes and makes treatment more bearable for children receiving care. The charity funds facilities that allow parents and carers to access care quickly for their children when needed and make it possible for families to enjoy as much time as they can together during hospital stays. It also provides support services, making the hospital experience less stressful and more child focused. This helps to provide a degree of normality, holistic support and a sprinkling of fun into families’ lives.
The charity’s Tiny Lives Appeal supports the lifesaving care given to premature and critically ill babies on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the University Hospital of Wales.
The charity is very close to the hearts of Industore’s Managing Director, Ross Powell and his wife, Suzi Powell. Noah’s Ark Charity believe passionately that all children in Wales should get the best possible hospital care, and that’s exactly what they gave to their own twins four years ago when they spent the first weeks of their precious lives at the NICU, being cared for by the ‘Angels in Scrubs’. It is with thanks to them that Suzi and Ross are now blessed with perfectly healthy twins.
Ross Powell: “I truly believe the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital is the best children’s hospital in the World. We’ve had a strong start to our fundraising efforts, with thanks to the amazing support from our clients, partners, friends and colleagues. Our team have a few more competitions, bake sales and challenges planned across our British and Irish operations, with the hope of raising at least £10,000.00 for the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity by April 2020.”
Fundraising Development Manager for the Noah’s Ark Charity, Lucy Jones, says: “Since the launch of the Tiny Lives Appeal in 2016 we’ve had the privilege of meeting many families like the Powells who have benefitted from the incredible care provided by the neonatal intensive care unit. We’re hugely grateful to them and the Industore team for the money they are raising for those families that continue to need the service. The funds will help provide life-saving equipment and facilities, ensuring that more neonatal babies go home to their families where they belong.”
The marathon relay has already raised a fantastic £1,201.19 and counting. For this campaign, an extra £3,798.81 was donated on behalf of the company, totalling a grand result of £5,000.00 for the Tiny Lives Appeal at Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital. If you’d like to support our campaign, your donation will help provide lifesaving care given to premature and critically ill babies on the NICU.
